About this resource
Ready to print, adapt and use.
This two-page worksheet uses Met Éireann rainfall averages for Valentia Observatory in Co. Kerry and Dublin Airport. Pupils draw a comparative bar chart for four months, answer quick questions about the wettest and driest months and the difference between the stations, and explain why the west of Ireland is wetter than the east.
Teaching notes
Model one pair of bars on the board before pupils draw their own, and insist on a key. The open-response question links to geography, so it works well as an integrated SESE and maths lesson.
